Math- 5-3 Problem Solving ALL. Be sure to show your ROSE work.
ROSE is an acronym that stands for Read, Organize, Solve, and Evaluate whenever you do a word problem. The students should be writing these steps down on their homework pages.
Today we read a story called, Encounter, that tells the story of Columbus's first voyage to the Americas from the viewpoint of a native boy. Ask your child (or tell your parents if you are one of my students reading this) about the story and the aftermath of this discovery.
Bonus points (raffle tickets) for anyone who can tell me who the Americas were named after.

Yes is is pretty easy to find if you do a simple Google search. You can only bring cupcakes Jessica if they are chocolate. Just kidding. Of course. Thanks for asking.
